Azalea
We carry mostly Satsuki varieties that are primarily used for bonsai, as well as miniature and dwarf forms.

Satsukis are generally May blooming plants from Japan with single flowers that are interesting for their variable colorations as well as stripes, flakes or margins. The bloom time may very depending on your location. All varieties are Satsukis unless otherwise noted in parenthesis.

We also carry dwarf rhododendrons.

Our small pots are 2 3/4 inches and retail for $ 5 each. The large pots are 4 inches and retail for $ 10 each
  Azalea Chichibu
Single, 3 inch, pale pink flowers with darker pink splashes. Blooms late May-June
  Azalea Chinzan
Single, 1 1/2-2 inch, deep pink flowers.Small foliage, medium to vigorous, very bushy , upright growth. Blooms May-June.
  Azalea Choeiraku
Single, 2 in., white flowers, pale green on the throat on upper petals. Medium, spreading growth. Early to mid-season bloomer.
  Azalea Chojuho
Single, 1 1/2 in., deep red strap-like lobed flowers.
  Azalea Gumpo Pink ((Syn. Yuguri))
Single, 3 in., light pink flowers, with wavy edges and a red blotch. Very dense, compact growth. Blooms in May.
  Azalea Gumpo White
Single, 3 in., white flowers with wavy margins. Slow, compact growth. Blooms in May.
  Azalea Gyokushin
Single, 2 1/2--3 inch , white flowers with occasional pink stripes and some solid shades of pink to purplish-sink. . Low and spreading. Late bloomer.
  Azalea Haru no Sono
Single, 3 in., pale orchid pink flowers with many variations of orchid, rose and occasional solid colors. Slow to medium, compact, upright growth. Late to very late bloomer
  Azalea Kinpai
Single, 2 1/2 in. flowers with buff-coral center and orange-red border. Many variations of size in border width. Vigorous, spreading growth. Blooms late April to early May.
  Azalea Kobai
Single, 1 1/2 in., deep pink flowers with various white patches. Slow, spreading growth. Blooms in early May.
  Azalea Kogetsu
Single, 2 1/2 in., white flowers with bold stripes of pink and coral-red and many variations. Medium, open, spreading growth. Blooms in May.
  Azalea Kohan no Tsuki
Single, 2 1/2 in., orange-red flowers with many having a white center. Medium, bushy, upright growth. Blooms in early May.
  Azalea Koka
Single, 1 1/2 inch white flowers with pink and/or red variations.
  Azalea Kokinsai
Tiny sport of Kinsai. Single, 1/2 in., usually, strap like red flowers, sometimes bell shaped flowers, or both. Very fine foliage on a small, twiggy plant. Blooms in June.

Single, 2 inch, medium pink flowers.
  Azalea Kotobuki Hime
Single to semi-double 2 inch, white flowers, and some red flowers with stripes and variations. Slow, spreading, bushy growth. Blooms in April.
  Azalea Kozan
Single, 1 1/2 in., pale beige-pink flowers with small spaced lobes. Very slow, bushy growth. Blooms mid to late season.
  Azalea Minato
Single to semi-double, 2 inch, white flowers with orchid edges. Wide, wavy petals. Vigorous, open, upright growth. Blooms in early May.
  Azalea Nachi no Tsuki
Single, 1 1/2 inch, bell-shaped, white flowers, speckled and striped with reddish-purple. Many variationswith occasional solid colors. Small, spaced, pointed petals. Slow to medium, compact growth. Blooms Mid-season.
  Azalea Rukizon
Single, 1 1/4 in., salmon orange flowers. Tiny, heart-shaped leaves on a slow growing plant. Known for its exquisite foliage. Blooms mid-May. also known as Kazan
  Azalea Shiko no Kagami
Single, 2 in., lavender flowers with occasional darker edges and many variations. Medium sized, pointed petals. Slow spreading growth. Blooms mid season.
  Azalea Shinnyo no Hikari
Single, 2 1/2 inch white flowers, speckled, and striped light pink and rose-red with occasional solid colors. Medium large , wide round petals. Very attractive dark green foliage variegated with yellowish green flecks and streaks. Vigorous, spreading growth. Blooms late season.
  Azalea Shiryu no Homare
Single, 1 1/2 inch purple flowers with narrow spider petals. Twisted leaves (rinpu type). Vigorous, upright growth. Blooms early May.
  Azalea Yama no Hikari
Single, 2 1\2 inch, white to deep coral-pink flowers with many variations of stripes and solid colors. Vigorous, upright grower. Blooms in late May.
  Azalea Yamabiko
Single, 1 1/2 inch pink flowers with white throat, and occasional darker flowers. Small floiage. Low, compact grower. Blooms in late May.
  Azalea Yata no Kagame
Single, 2 1/2 inch, blush pink flowers shaded a deep coral to the outer edges. Some flowers tipped coral and others a solid color. Medium sized, spaced petals. Medium upright grower. Blooms Early to mid-season.
  Azalea Ambrosia Variegata ((sun. Virginia Stewart))
Double, 1 1/2 inch rosy-red flowers on a low growing plant with strongly variegated green and white foliage. Blooms late March-April.
  Azalea Chikyuho
Irregular, double, 2 inch coral-pink flowers fading to white in the center with many variations. Upright, spreading plant. Blooms midseason. Late April-May here.
  Azalea Chinsai
White, 1- 1 1/2 inch, single, flowers with serrated petals, pink and rose stripes, flecks, variations and occasional solid colors. Slow to medium, spreading growth. Many unusual forms. A sport of Kotobuke. Blooms in Mid-May
  Azalea Cho no Hagoromo
Single,2 inch white flowers with yellow centers. Sometimes withs specks and sectors of yellowish pink. Blooms in June.
  Azalea Daiseiko
White, 2 1/2 inch flowers with pink stripes, flakes, solids and many variatons. Slow growing, compact habit. Blooms late season. Late May-June here.
  Azalea Eiko
Single, 3 inch,slightly bell-shaped white flowers with occasional pink stripes and many variations of solid colors of pink to light red. Vigorous, spreading growth. Early-midseason. Blooms in late April here.
  Azalea Fuji Mori
Single, 1 1/2 - 2 inch soft pink flowers with long, narrow, pointed petals. Has pink stems. Low, spreading growth. Early-midseason. Blooms late May here.
  Azalea Fuji Zakura
Single, 2-2 1/2 in, white flowers with a pale pink overlay with markings and stripes of deeper pink. Many variations with solid colors both lighter and darker. Small to medium flowers with pointed petals. Slow, compact growth. Mid to late season. Blooms in May here.
  Azalea Gyokudo
Single, 2 inch, white flowers with buff coral base, many with brilliant orange, red, and white on tips of petals. Medium to fast, open, upright growth. Blooms in April here.
  Azalea Hakutsuru
Star-shaped, 1 1/2 inch white flowers. Bushy habit. Blooms in mid-May here.
  Azalea Haru no Umi
Single, 3 inch white flowers with a light pink wash. Some flowers have a dark blotch or solid color. Blooms late May-June here.
  Azalea Hino Tsukasa
Single, 2 1/2 in., dark reddish-orange flowers. Medium, upright, compact growth. Blooms mid-May here.
  Azalea Hoshi no Sato
Single, 2 1/2 inch flowers, pale pink to white with a darker pink margin. Variegated green and yellow foliage. Blooms mid-May.

  Rhododendron keleticum
Deep purplish-crimson 1 inch flowers with crimson spots that lay flat and resemble a pansey. Dense, matted growth to 1 foot. Blooms mid-March to May here.

Light salmon pink flowers with occasional deep coral stripe and some solid coral flowers. Very small flowers with narrow, pointed separate petals. Very slow, bushy growth.

Singular to irregular double white flowers with lavender and purple rose speckles and stripes with occasional solid colors of lavender pink edged white. Large, wide round petals. Medium, spreading growth. Blooms earlly to late season.
  Azalea Yayoi No Tsuki
Single white to pale pink flowers with many variations of stripes and deep pink solids. Some with a white star in the center and wide dark pink margins. Medium large, wide, round petals. Medium, upright grower. Blooms early to mid-season.

Single, salmon pink flowers edged white. Heavily spotted coral red throat.
Small, spaced, pointed petals. Slow growing, bushy plant. Blooms mid to late season.
  Azalea Uchu No Tsuki
Single, white flowers, speckled and striped coral and orange red. Occasional solid colors with a white center bordered red orange. Medium size, wide, round petals. Slow, bushy growth. Blooms mid to late season.
  Azalea Ukigumo No Tsuki
Single, white to light pink to orange red flowers mottled white with many variations. Medium large, wide, round petals. Slow to medium bushy growth. Blooms mid to late season.
Bamboo
We carry the smaller forms of running type bamboo. All bamboo will reduce in size if the growth is restricted by using a small container.Our small pots are 2 3/4 inches and retail for $ 5 each. The large pots are 4 inches and retail for $ 10 each
  Pleioblastus pygmaea (Sasa)
A small, running type bamboo with green leaves 3/8 in. wide by 2 in. long and has a very tight growth habit. It grows to 2 ft. in its native habitat, but only 1 ft. here. Prefers some shade.
  Pleioblastus shibuyanus 'Tsuboi'
A beautiful, small, runing type bamboo with leaves 1/2 in wide and 3 in. long. The leave are green with a yellow band around the edge, a distinctive yellow stripe along the midrib and fine yellow stripes in the green, the full length of the leaf.
  Pleioblastus viridistriata (Arundinaria)
A running type bamboo with green and golden-yellow striped leaves 1/2 in. wide by 4 in. long. It grows to about 3 ft. The foliage is most attractive in the shade
  Sasaella masamuneana 'Albostriata'
A running type bamboo with dark green 1/2 in. wide by 3 in. long leaves striped and edged in white or cream, . Grows to 6 ft. in its native habitat, but much lower here. Prefers some shade.
Beech
We usually carry Japanese and European beech. The Japanese beech does best in areas of high summer humidity. The European beech can grow in hot dry areas in the shade well.
  Fagus sylvatica (European Beech)
This is a large size deciduous tree with leaves that are variable but generally a bit wider than Japanese beech. The leaves are held on during the winter until being pushed off by spring growth. Very easy to grow but may require shade in hot dry areas. Makes a nice single plant or for a bonsai forest. A very reliable substitute for Japanese Beech.
  Fagus sylvatica fastigiata seedling (Columnar European Beech)
A columnar form of the european beech.
  Fahus sylvatica atropurpureum (Red Leaf European Beech)
This is a large size deciduous tree with lred eaves that are variable but generally a bit wider than Japanese beech. The leaves are held on during the winter until being pushed off by spring growth. Very easy to grow but may require shade in hot dry areas. Makes a nice single plant or for a bonsai forest. A very reliable substitute for Japanese Beech.
Birch
We carry miniature and dwarf forms as well as forms for bonsai.
  Betula nana (Arctic Birch)
A small leafed shrub type plant growing 18 in. tall and 3 ft. wide in about twenty years. It makes a very attractive small bonsai if the lower new growth is removed each spring. It is also very hardy. Useful in the garden railroad.
Boxwood
